My name is Erica Wilson, founder of Last Chance for Love. I am a sophomore at a local high school, and it is my hope to become an exotic veterinarian. After receiving the title of Jr. Teen Miss World Elite, I decided to form a non-profit organization for animals and use this as my platform. I founded Last Chance for Love in May 2012. My goal is to reach out to people in order to encourage them to adopt shelter animals in need.
Approximately 6-8 million dogs and cats are taken into shelters per year, of whom 3-4 million are euthanized. There is nothing wrong with these animals. They are given a time limit, and when this time runs out they are euthanized so that room can be made for new animals in the shelter.
Last Chance for Love’s main goal is to foster or sponsor animals that are on the euthanization list until they are adopted. With your help, we can make a difference. We can give these animals what they need: a Last Chance for Love.
“Saving one animal may not change the world, but to that one animal, their world is changed forever.”
